How to Deal with Stress Using Hypnosis
Stress… A word we so often hear and most definitely encounter more than once in our lives.
So, what really is it?
Merriam-Webster Dictionary defined stress as “a state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your life, work, etc.” Stress is basically everywhere.
It’s a reality that we constantly have to face whether at home, in the office or literally anywhere.
Stressors are present. It’s just a matter of how we deal with them that determines our fate on how stress will affect our physical, mental and emotional well-being.

With the Hypnosis and Therapy Centre, we treat stress very different.
Stress is good! It is an indicator, and is treated as such.
People associate stress with negativity, but if you alter your mindset and understand that stress is your body’s reaction to something to protect you, you can change your relationship and behaviours towards it. Caitríona and Fiachra are experts in teaching you how.
Stress, Anxiety and Hypnosis
One of the most common sources of stress in adults is at work. Typically, long hours of work, being underpaid, conflict with your immediate supervisors or colleagues, feeling under appreciated are just some of the stressors that an employee experiences. These stressors can all contribute negatively to one’s well-being if not properly managed.
Manifestations of the effects of stress can sometimes go unnoticed and before you know it, it’s already too late. Fatigue, constant headaches, sleepless nights, dermatological disorders can all be linked to unhealthy stress levels in our body. It’s the body’s way of saying that something is not right in our system but if we fail to heed its warning it can cause serious physical and medical issues and in most severe cases even death.
Stress can also go deeper than physical manifestations. It can affect our mental well-being. Feelings of depression and anxiety are so deadly that it can even lead to death if not managed appropriately.
According to the World Health Organization, depression is a common mental disorder and an estimated 5% of adults suffers from it and is a leading cause of disability worldwide.
High stress levels cause disruption in the equilibrium of our body and can trigger risk factors for stroke such as the sudden increase in blood pressure that causes the heart to work harder and thus, increases the risk of having stroke. Strokes happen when there’s a decrease or blockage of blood supply in the brain that requires immediate medical attention and can cause serious physical and mental disability.
Can Stress Cause a Stroke
Many families and friends have instances where a family member suffers from a stroke. This can eventually take a toll to the members of the family both physically and financially. When you experience a loved one who has suffered from a stroke, the road to recovery can be difficult, despite the willingness and hard work.
With the right support system and guidance, anyone can beat stress at its own game. Instead, our techniques focus on the positive aspect and protection stress gives us, rather than the negative associations most people have. This mindset is extremely valuable and will set you apart from your peers.
